PuraPDF+ Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 1, 2026
PuraPDF+ is a PDF toolkit for iOS and Android.
This page explains what happens to your data when you use it.
The short version
Every PDF you open, edit, merge, split, compress, sign, or scan is processed
entirely on your device. We do not have servers that
receive, store, or process your documents — we never see them, and we
cannot see them. The only data leaving your device is what our
advertising partner (Google AdMob, described below) collects to show ads,
and — only if the app crashes or hits an unexpected error — a technical
crash report (never your documents) sent to our error-monitoring service,
described below.
Documents and files
- PDF files you open and any files the app generates (merged, split,
compressed, edited, watermarked, signed, or scanned PDFs) are read,
processed, and saved entirely on your device.
- The app never uploads your documents anywhere.
- Generated files are listed in the app's Recents screen, which reads
them directly from your device's storage. You can delete any file, or
clear all of them, at any time from Recents — this deletes the file
from your device.
- You can also send a PDF or image to PuraPDF+ from another app (Files,
Mail, Photos, etc.) using iOS's Share Sheet. The shared file is copied
into a private, on-device area that only PuraPDF+ and its Share
extension can access, then processed the same way as any file you open
directly — still entirely on your device, never uploaded.
Camera and photo library
- The Document Scanner feature uses your camera to capture pages. The
photos it takes are used only to build a PDF on your device and are not
uploaded anywhere.
- The Image ⇄ PDF feature can import photos from your library to
convert them to a PDF, or export PDF pages as images to your library.
This happens entirely on-device.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
PuraPDF+ shows ads through Google AdMob to support free use of the app.
AdMob may collect device identifiers, approximate location, and app
usage data to select and measure ads, and may use this data across other
apps and services per Google's own policies. We do not control what
AdMob collects — see
Google's Privacy Policy
and Google's Ad Policy
for details.
- EEA / UK / Switzerland: the app asks for your consent
(via Google's User Messaging Platform) before requesting personalized
ads, as required by GDPR/UK data protection law.
- iOS: the app asks for App Tracking Transparency
permission before requesting ads that use tracking, as required by
Apple.
Crash and error reporting (Sentry)
If PuraPDF+ crashes or hits an unexpected error, technical diagnostic
information — the type of error, a stack trace, your device model, OS
version, and the app version — is automatically sent to Sentry, a
third-party error-monitoring service, so we can find and fix the problem.
- This report never includes your PDF documents, their content, or any
other personal file data — only technical details about the crash
itself.
- This data is stored in Sentry's EU data region. See
Sentry's Privacy Policy
for details on how they handle it.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account, login, or any personal information to
use the app.
- We don't run analytics services, and our crash-reporting service
(above) never sees your documents or other personal data — only
technical crash details.
- We don't sell your data — we don't have your data to sell.
Children's privacy
PuraPDF+ is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum
age in your region) and we do not knowingly collect personal information
from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
